Northcote Lodge Care Home is a new purpose built residential care home providing a warm homely environment and the highest standard of care and friendship for 60 elderly residents. We aim to maintain our residents’ independence and individuality and to enhance their quality of life within Northcote. Our care home is situated in a quiet residential area of Airyhall which is well served by the public transport service, number 15, making it ideal for family and friends to visit.
The home benefits from enclosed gardens, which enables our residents to explore freely and safely, as well as a summer house for them to enjoy the fresh air and the sun when the weather is favourable.
At Northcote Lodge we value the estimable worth and dignity of each human being as made in the image and likeness of God. Commitment to this ideal leads us to provide, to all that need care, a service that is marked by a spirit of love and compassion. Northcote Lodge Trust has been established to provide a care home for the elderly, and its’ Roman Catholic ethos ensures that the dignity and respect of each resident is maintained to the highest degree. Full details of the Roman Catholic ethos are available on request.
We support the residents’ right to choice and encourage family and friends to become involved in the residents’ care.
We care for the whole person and this includes all aspects physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social welfare.
Each resident will be encouraged to express themselves as individuals and we will endeavour to accommodate on-going changes, which may be brought about by the ageing process, in a way that meets individual requirements.
We aim to maintain personal privacy as much as possible and encourage residents to furnish and equip rooms to their individual taste. Residents are encouraged to entertain in their rooms and may choose to have their meals here instead of going to the dining room. We very much respect residents’ property and privacy.
A personalised care plan will be compiled with the resident or their family on arrival to ensure we identify the resident’s needs. We are equally keen to hear about the residents’ lifetime experiences, memories and interests. This will be reviewed regularly to ensure we make your life as happy, comfortable and fulfilled as possible. Residents, families or staff can request a review at any time.
We are a registered charity managed by a board of trustees, which include a lawyer and a retired GP, whose background and experiences prove to be invaluable.
Our home is regularly inspected by the Care Commission which regulates and inspects care services in Scotland to make sure that they meet the right standards of care, accommodation and service. We pride ourselves with the high grades we have been awarded in the last Care Inspectorate Report.
