We offer a selection of 60 en-suite rooms set across two floors and for easy access there is a lift to the upper floor. Each room is fully furnished and tastefully decorated. A nurse call system is installed in every room. The bedroom furniture consists of a bed, a bed side lockable table, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, an over-bed table, an armchair and a wall mounted plasma television.
Every room has underfloor heating and a large window which provides quality daylight to enter in and which offers great views over our landscaped gardens. Each one of our five wings has a variety of communal lounges, dining rooms and relaxation areas. All external doors are secure to optimise safety.
Your room is your own personal space, which is why we encourage you to personalise it by bringing small pieces of furniture or by hanging your favourite pictures.
We consider ourselves lucky to have a lovely café in the front reception area which is run by volunteers and in house staff. The café serves home bakes, soup, sandwiches and small snacks. Traditional fish and chips is also offered on Fridays.
Residents, families, friends and the local neighbourhood are all welcome. Prices are minimal and, as it is their home, there are no charges in the cafe for our residents. It is an ideal area for socialisation.
Northcote Lodge also has wonderful grounds, including a summer house, patio area and croquet lawn, which have been specifically laid to enable residents to enjoy safely and comfortable. The summer house was purchased from the money we have raised at our Northcote events and it is a very popular spot amongst the residents. When the weather allows it we like to organise barbecues for the residents to enjoy something different for lunch. As we have generous grounds, some of our residents relax doing a bit of gardening under the supervision our care staff. This activity proves very therapeutical.
Dinning & Meals
Residents have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of homemade freshly cooked meals. There will be a menu choice daily. The lunch menu comprises of a three course meal and one course meal for supper. Individual choices are catered for such as freshly made sandwiches and cheese and biscuits. Residents can request alternative food if not happy with the menu. Home bakes are served every afternoon and tea and coffee is served throughout the day. Night snacks can be arranged for those residents who are perhaps light sleepers.
